Psychological Assessment
Comprehensive evaluations for children, teens, & adults
Whether you have questions about autism, ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, or your child's emotional or developmental functioning, our assessments are designed to provide answers that help guide support at home, school, and beyond.
About Assessment
Sometimes it feels like things are not quite adding up.
You may have questions about your child's development, learning, emotions, or behavior. Or perhaps you are an adolescent or adult who has spent years wondering why certain things have always felt more difficult than they seem to be for others. You may be seeking answers for the first time, looking for diagnostic clarification, or hoping to better understand your strengths and challenges. A psychological assessment can help bring those pieces together.
At Early Elements, our evaluations are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how an individual thinks, learns, communicates, regulates their emotions, relates to others, and experiences the world. We look beyond behaviors or symptoms alone to understand the whole picture, including developmental history, cognitive functioning, emotional well-being, sensory processing, relationships, and everyday functioning.
Whether an evaluation results in a diagnosis or simply provides greater clarity, our goal is to help individuals and families better understand themselves and make informed decisions about support, treatment, education, work, and daily life.

our assessment process
-

Initial interviews
We begin with a parent interview to learn about your child’s history, development, daily experiences, and your current concerns. With your consent, the assessor may also consult with teachers or other providers to gain a full understanding of how your child functions in different settings.
-

Testing Sessions
Your child will participate in multiple play-based and structured testing sessions, depending on their age and needs. For young children, testing may look like games, storytelling, or drawing while the assessor observes how they think, problem-solve, and regulate emotions.
-

Feedback and recommendations
Once all data are gathered and interpreted, we will meet with parents separately from your child to review the results and recommendations. Then, we schedule another meeting with your child to review test results in a developmentally appropriate way.
-

Report
After feedback has been discussed, you will receive a written report outlining findings, diagnoses (if applicable), and individualized recommendations for home, school, and therapeutic support. You may share this report with others you choose, such as other providers or members of your support team.
Every assessment begins with understanding the questions that brought you here.
Rather than relying on test scores alone, we integrate information from clinical interviews, standardized measures, developmental history, behavioral observations, questionnaires, and relevant records to develop a comprehensive understanding of each individual.
For children, this includes collaboration with parents, teachers, and other providers. For adolescents and adults, we also explore personal history, current functioning, relationships, and life experiences to understand how challenges may have changed over time.
Our evaluations are developmentally informed, strengths-based, and individualized, with the goal of providing recommendations that are practical, meaningful, and tailored to each person's unique profile.
Fees & Billing
Your clinician’s standard hourly rate is charged for all assessment activities. This includes:
2-hour, direct testing sessions (number of testing sessions will depend on individual needs, but typically range from 3-4)
Scoring and interpretation of test results
Parent and teacher interviews
Child observation in natural settings (when applicable)
Report writing (should not exceed 10 total hours)

This “pay-as-we-go” model allows you to be billed as services are provided, rather than paying a large lump sum at the beginning.
