our group therapy process

  • consultation

We begin with a brief phone or virtual consultation to learn more about your concerns, answer your questions, and help you determine whether our services feel like a good fit for you or your child.

  • Intake

For children, the intake process includes an initial 1-hour parent session, followed by a 1-hour session with your child. For adults, the intake process includes a 1-hour introductory session to learn more about you and your goals for group therapy.

  • Group Introduction

After the intake process is complete, you or your child will begin attending group therapy! You or your child will be warmly welcomed by peers, who understand what it feels like to be the “new person” and will make sure you are comfortable.

  • Parent Consultation

For child groups, we provide regular parent sessions to check in about your child’s progress and ongoing needs. We provide recommendations about how to help your child use skills they learn in group at home or school.
